And the answer to that question is yes!! But if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes I would not have believed it!!

I’ve spent the last 4 weeks making a green smoothie for my breakfast each day, and whizzing it up in my Nutribullet (affiliate) It’s been dead easy, a bit of curly kale, a handful of spinach, a carrot, a pear and some chia seeds. My kind-of, sort-of own recipe from stuff I usually have in the fridge – I don’t always stick to these things so they have to be as simple as possible. It’s pretty tasty and as it’s so easy to make and to clean up afterwards, it’s been pretty easy to stick to.

I’ve used this in conjuction with myfitnesspal to check I’m on target for calories and adding my weight training to the app as I’ve been going to the gym too. I usually try for 10 minutes on a cardio machine, either the stepper or the rowing machine, followed by 20 minutes on the resistance machines. I do 2 sets of 10 reps and try to do as heavy a weight as I can. There are many, many machines so I just do the ones that are available within my time limit and it mixes things up a bit. I try to go about 3 times a week.

Lost a whole 2 pounds in 4 weeks and I have to say, I was feeling a bit glum about that. All that effort, well, for me anyway, and not much to show for it……but then!!! I remembered at the beginning that I did some measurements and I thought maybe I should just check in case there is a slight difference and it may make me feel better. Well, what a fabulous surprise!! 2 inches off my waist! 2 inches!!! And it didn’t stop there! 1 inch off my chest, 1 inch off my hips, 1/2 an inch off each thigh and 1/2 inch off my arms. I just could not believe it! The lack of weight loss does not seem as important now as I know that I am actually doing something and my body is actually responding.

So keep up with it everyone – it does work! (no-one is more surprised than me!).
