Seen Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom yet? We went out as a family for a whole evening dedicated to cinema and food (yum) and were not disappointed. Was the film as good as its predecessors? Not far off, but I guess nothing will ever be a good as the combo of the first Jurassic Park and Jeff Goldblum, but that’s just my opinion. 🙂

I opted for the chicken katsu curry in Wagamamas beforehand, my daughter choosing the chicken ramen. Then we hopped the 10 steps to the Odeon (Metrocentre) to pick up our tickets. Now for the main event.

No! Not the film, the D-Box seats! They are basically seats with motion and its synchronised to the film, so will mimic the movements and vibrations on screen. Sounds a perfect combination for a stampede of dinosaurs (well, isn’t there always?).

Never having sat in the D-Box seats before I wasn’t sure what to expect, but was slightly comforted by the fact that they had an off switch as well as a variety of settings from low to high – how weird could this be? So we just decided to go for it and start off with the seats at the highest setting. It was absolutely brilliant. I guess the enjoyment will also depend on the film, some probably work better than others. The seats are also more expensive but as we are a family of long-time Jurassic Park/World/Kingdom fans it was worth it to us. I will warn you lovely ladies out there though – the last 15 minutes of Jurassic Kingdom in a D-Box seat really requires a sports bra. You’ll see what I mean!
