Tyneside Cinema launched their Christmas programme on the hottest day of the year, but surprisingly I was still excited for Christmas after I arrived out of the hot sun and into the cool, calm interior of the Digital Lounge complete with tinsel, mince pies, a Christmas tree and even Santa himself.
The screen showed trailers from all the favourite Christmas films so we grabbed some popcorn and chocolate milk and sat down to be immersed in the festive atmosphere. Tyneside are aiming higher this year and offering even more amazing Christmas classics alongside their festive afternoon teas and treats.

My personal favourite is the screening of the Holiday, which comes complete with a Holiday Survival Kit, containing chocolate, popcorn, prosecco and a handy pack of tissues for those weepy moments. For the kids there is the screening of the Polar Express, where kids receive a hot chocolate, a gingerbread man and a visit from Santa himself.
The festive afternoon tea looks scrumptious, and there were samples of food to try on the day. I can totally vouch for the food, it was delish and definitely won’t disappoint.

After a mooch around chatting to the very helpful and knowledgeable staff, even the Grinch made an appearance and was up to no good, providing some giggles while listening to Christmas tunes and sampling festive themed cocktails.

Reluctantly we pulled ourselves away back into the glorious sunshine, but not before picking up a brochure so we can plan our girls and family outings to the Tyneside this winter. Their Christmas programme can also be found online at Tyneside Christmas Programme so be sure to check it out. Those darker nights and colder days will be here before you know it, what better way to spend an evening than choosing some festive treats and films and making a real occasion of some family and friends time at the Tyneside.
